Beginners Course

as the name suggests, this is where you start if you have minimal or no grappling experience. Our beginners class is run on a constant 8 week cycle, however you can start at any time. During the 8 weeks you will be taught fundamentals in the standing positions, passing and playing guard and some basic submissions with people who are all in the same boat as you!

our youngest kids program helps your little ones get started with the basics of grappling and jiu jitsu. They’ll be taught a mixture of basic techniques combined with fun games that will help them burn lots of energy - and hopefully tire them out! Shorts and t shirts without pockets or zips are all they need to get started. (Boys and Girls Mixed)

Kids (4 - 7 years)

the next level of our kids program is mostly taught in the Gi (the traditional kimono worn with a belt) for most of the year. In the warmer months, this will transition to nogi (shorts and a rash guard) teaching ensuring your child gets a well rounded mix of both types of jiu jitsu. In this age group grading will begin and belts will be given out for consistency and progression with their training. Fun is always the aim but there is more of a focus on technique and skill development at this age group. Introduction to basic competition rules and strategy will be part of these classes. (Boys and Girls Mixed)

Kids (7 - 12 years)

This class focuses on all aspects of grappling appropriate for the teenage age group helping them to build solid fundamentals with elements of competition style training a trademark of these sessions. This session is tailored to all levels whether new or if you/your teen has already started training. (Boys and Girls mixed)

Teens (12 - 17 years)

Once your 8 weeks is complete

you can purchase one of our memberships to continue training, and as part of this you can still attend the beginners class, if you feel confident enough you can attend any other class/session you like. People do tend to do 2-3 cycles of beginners before making the jump to a more advanced class - but lots of people dive straight in and never look back.

all levels of experience are welcome to attend the Gi classes, all of our Gi instructors are black belts who can tailor each session to all levels. These sessions are taught in the Gi (kimono and belt) and the style of jiu jitsu differs from nogi as you are allowed to use the clothing to apply chokes and make grips to move your partner around. This can at times be a slightly slower pace than Nogi with more techniques available to learn using the Gi.

Mixed Levels Gi
